As soon as I could read, I was mesmerized by words. I challenged my young mind to absorb as many of them as possible — devouring books, writing poems to use the new language I gathered, and turning to crossword puzzles whenever my brain needed a different kind of stretch. Anything that tested my relationship with words became my refuge. Reading and writing were my first sanctuary, a place where silence transforms into testimony.

From school debates to acting in school dramas, from scribbling poems in notebooks to daydreaming about becoming a screenwriter, I formed an intimate bond with language. And even though my path didn’t lead me into writing as a profession, I’ve filled countless notebooks with poems and stories. Now, writing under the pen name PMNilla, the time feels ripe to share my inner world with the outer world.

In my lifelong relationship with language, I weave together stories and poems rooted in empathy and resilience, often speaking for those who lack the space to voice their words. Writing remains my sanctuary — a place where truth can soften, deepen, and take shape.

When I am not writing, I create art and craft pieces that carry the same spirit of sanctuary: gentle, intentional, and made to share.

I believe that every word, every object, and every gesture can hold sanctuary for someone — that silence itself can become tangible, and through it, connection is born.
